THE TOM DUNCAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND WAS CREATED IN MEMORY OF THOMAS A. DUNCAN, FORMER CHAIRMAN OF SER INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES, INC. HE WAS A PASTOR AND TEACHER, AN EDUCATOR AT HEART, WITH A VISION FOR THE SPIRITUAL AND SECULAR EDUCATION OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
TOM’S BURNING DESIRE WAS TO SEE THE MANY IMPOVERISHED CHILDREN OF MEXICO COME TO KNOW THE LORD, BE DISCIPLED IN THE WORD OF GOD, AND FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION IN THEIR CHOSEN PROFESSION. HIS VISION WAS TO SEE THEM RISE ABOVE THEIR MEAGER BEGINNINGS AND BECOME VIBRANT, FRUITFUL MEMBERS OF SOCIETY AND SERVANTS OF GOD.
HOWEVER, JANUARY 29, 2002, TOM WENT TO BE WITH THE LORD BEFORE HE COULD HELP COMPLETE THE IMPLE-MENTATION OF THIS MUCH NEEDED MINISTRY. THROUGH THIS SCHOLARSHIPFUND, HIS JOY AND DEDICATION TO EDUCATION OF OTHERS WILL LIVE ON FOR MANY GENERATIONS AS PEOPLE ARE MOVED TO SHARE IN THIS VISION.

ITS PURPOSE?
This scholarship fund has been established to aid needy Mexican children and young people to become independent and productive members of society, embracing a true Christian lifestyle and being faithful witnesses for the Lord. The need to challenge them to pursue education is great. Left to themselves in their poverty, many would and could not have means or encouragement to rise above their surroundings. They would not be able to acquire the knowledge they need to pursue education, advance in a profession, and achieve their educa-tional and career goals.

- As monies become available, they will be awarded to those who have demonstrated their worthiness of finan-cial help through:
- Scholastic performance.
- Christian character.
- RESPONSIBILITY
- Desire for education.
